Diplomacy Question

Hi,

I haven't tried the game so far. I just have a gameplay question or two about diplomacy. Can it be used to conquer neutral planets? Let's say there is a planet without your of opponent presence. Is the military way (dropping troops or colonies) the only way to acquire the planet or can it be done by diplomacy (or influence), where it falls by itself in your favor (because it is already populated by neutral people).

Oh and another question. Is there an "approval" percentage on each planets?

Please don't reply me to buy the game. I will eventually do so, but at the moment I would not even find the time to play. I'm just curious, that's all.

Thanks !!

no neutral people as of yet

probably won't be any neutral factions, there are 2 other sides (Advent and Vasari) and there are pirates in the game now, what more could you want?

I always want more Would have been nice to have neutral people on some planets. When you conquer them by force, you have a big "approval" penalty for some time, but when you conquer them by diplomacy, well then basically fall in love with you But again, I am saying this without having tried the game, so my idea is propably a bad one.

So, in the actual game (beta 2), when you discover a new planet, is it yours automaticaly, or the pirates have already taken it? (because I think I read that the 2 other races are not in the game at this point?)

Thanks again.
