installing galciv2 now, so not shure how this will work. when I had a free loaner for a laptop, galciv2 ran horrible on vista, and I keep reading people have problems with vista.

Is Stardock going to make a vista patch?

Well wish me luck guys, if I can't play the game I am going to ball.

So long as Vista leaves enough RAM for the game, you should be ok. Do make sure to update your video drivers first thing from nvidia.com to make sure you avoid the 'flipping back buffer' issue present in the Vista release drivers.

As of DA 1.6, Cari completely rewrote the minimap code to eliminate the scrolling lag that was seen by Vista users. The new engine changes ported back from the fantasy TBS game have improved things across the board overall as well on most systems. I don't presently know if there are any plans to port some of these changes back to DL, but at least for DA, the game should run just as well on Vista as on XP now.
