Great to have you aboard Quixen. You will find many of the same faces here, though Marshall has had some time off lately, he does drop in from time to time.

There is plenty of DA tips in the Throne Room, but of course just start upa thread mate and the help will come. Between us i don't think there is much to DA we don't know by now....TA is another story.

I guess my first question is..... what in the world is that <-------- whole Karma thing on this board about?  I want to get me some of that Karma... hehe.  I see that Silverbeacher has +18.... is there a way to get -18 Karma hehe.

I posted my first victory in a long time a couple of days ago.  It wasn't much but I was reintroducing myself to the game and its controls.  I will gradually work my way back up no doubt.  After I get a firm grasp on GC2, I will head onto DA.  Also, can anyone tell me a little bit more about TA?

Anyway.... It is good to be back and in such fine company!

other people can give you karma for various points you make, or just to boost your ego, or because you're in charge of the number one empire and they're bandwagon jumpers... you know, whatever.

TA is big biger then you can emagion

TA's main thing is unique tech trees and improvements per race, making each race a little different to play as now. What else? Immense galaxy's, Gigantic was 18x18 sectors Immense is 22x22. Only thing is, the planet count is down in TA, so you get more planets form a DA Gigantic all abundant than any TA setup. Last count was about a max of 560 planets for TA with DA having about 740 to 770 or so. Important to know for score mongers . Da's economy was tighter than DLs, well TAs even tighter than that. Starting funds are down to 3000. Ummm oh yea, Terror Stars can destory a star taking everything in it's radius with it(Planets,ships. resources), but they aren't real useful unless your roleplaying it or just to see the fireworks, cause they only move one space a turn and take a lot of investment to build. A lot of other little things and maybe a big thing or two I forgot. Also if you haven't played DA since the earlier versions(1.6 or before) you might find it has changed a little as well .

As to the Karma..i just had to compliment you on your stance of helping an empire get to #1 instead of already going for the gold. You'll find a rant of mine on ToE.com somewhere on that topic.....

The big thing about TA, score wise at least, is that the MCC no longer gives you the 100% to econ that it did in DL/DA. But it does seem that scoring may not be so focused on your Mil score. Magnumanic managed a 1M game in TA by focusing on Tech and Military equally...or close to IIRC. I am yet to delve into TA a great deal.

Of our members i would say Magnumaniac, (yes along with Mumble, DA, Dystopic and Justinsane have all come over from the Diplo's) Dystopic and Silverbeacher would be the most versed in TA.

I know I'm helping the 'enemy' here, but I'm just too helpful I guess.  Quixen, if you want to read up on somebody's take on TA...and a long read at that, check out DivineWrath's post here: TA 101.  It'll at least get you familirized in what's changed, where the races stand now...it also has some good commentary thru the pages.

Canine creatures are not considered the enemy by those in the Tyranny. Your presence is welcomed....We know that when certain cats are not looking you feast upon the weak kzin in your empire...

Their fellow Kzin feed on their weak though...  Here I thought the one day a rolled-up newspaper had my name on it, but I got a pat on the back.

As Loup said, that is entirely acceptable...it helps strengthen and purify  our bloodlines.

Ok, so I figured out how to look at the Karma score and see who gave what and why.... now, what I need to figure out is how to give someone Karma points.  Anyone?

Click on the "thumbs up" icon under their post, it's right next to "report".

Just click on that little thumb thing below someone's post.  I believe the majority of my karma is from various Tyrants actually.
