STATUS UPDATE: March 27th!

We have now added an option so that those who have purchased GalCiv either CD or download only can download the full retail installer inside a single ZIP file.

If you haven't purchased, this link is generated on the fly for your account when you purchase.

If you have already purchased and want to get this, go here:
http://www.stardock.com/support.asp

Just type in the email address you used when you bought the game and it'll generate a link. Note though that if you have already got the game downloaded and installed fine that you hold off on doing this since bandwidth is at a premium right now and we want to make sure those people who have already purchased the game but haven't gotten it downloaded yet can get this done.

The stand alone build does not include the BonusPak. But you can then go to the downloads section here and either download the BonusPak update "patch" or use Stardock Central. Note thoughthat you may need to install SDC again so that it can scan to see that you now have GalCiv installed.

ALSO..
Some of you may have noticed that download speeds have vastly increased. We have increased our bandwidth to a new level. We had to switch the machine it was being hosted on because the previous one couldn't handle the load.

ALSO..
A new Stardock Central is available that addresses issues reported from today. It should auto update but you can check by going to the help->about and making sure it says build 3. If it doesn't, go to the downloads section here and download RC1. When you run that, it should auto update at that point to build 3.

Have fun! Let us know if there's anything we can do for you!

Dammit, I can't. As discussed earlier, Support made a typo in my email address domain's name, so that link wants me to type in the incorrect address, and sends the registration email off to an non-existant account where it thereupon will bounce.

Patently uncool. Hopefully Sales will fix that in the morning. At least I know what the typoed email address is so I may post. Silly and odd day this was.

Kimberly, bemused at the irony.

Sorry Brad, I don't know what you mean by an increase in bandwidth - right now I am averaging 64 BYTES(!!!) a second. Fortunately I'm a patient guy, but that is the most ridiculous transfer rate I have ever seen. But otherwise, the install of Stardock went well. Didn't lose my harddrive anyways(yet).

Oh, just checked, I'm not at 4KB a second, what a vast improvement, lol. Thanks alot Brad for at least being concerned about this. Its hard being a completely different timezone to get prompt customer service but you guys have been good.

trvthseeker: my DL speed through SDC was pathetic as well. May I recommend that you try the direct download link? SDC was giving me about 4kb/s as well (on a university T1, no less), but the direct download, using Gozilla, ran at ~550kb/s. I got all 465MB of the installer in about 12 minutes.

To the devs and other official-type people: I STRONGLY recommend that you consider making future updates available for direct download as well as through SDC. I don't know what's wrong with SDC (or, quite possibly, my connection), but I find direct download infinitely preferrable, obviously.

Its not going to %@$# up my Windows again is it?

I'm still trying to take stock of how much work I've lost, and what the cost of the re-format will be. >:(

I am happy to report all my name and email problems were solved completely yesterday, I have now downloaded the big exe file, and ordered the CD! Yup, satisfied and addicted. Pity I can't play again until my weekend starts on Sunday.

Kimberly, content.
