Where are the good looking "dreams"

Where are the good looking "dreams"

Ok, now, after the Preview of DreamScene is up, i thought "let's check SD if they released their extension". And indeed, you guys did...but where are the nice nature scenes showed earlier? I mean, those three you have there done even fit nearly to Vista.

Still, i hope you dont get this too wrong, maybe i was just too fast.

Well said Venom, some people are never happy and they seem to think the rest of the world owes them something

I don't feel anybody owes me anything, I simply expect what I pay for, don't you?

There's a big difference between deliverables at your job, and how you release content to the public.  When releasing content such as these Dreams, we want to maintain people's interest over the long term.  If we put out all of the absolutely killer stuff right now, people would snatch it up, then leave and likely not return.  If people don't return, chances are they'll miss other great content down the line.  It's called pacing and build-up.  We start with a taste, something to get people going and interested and as time goes we build and build.

How would you feel if your weekly TV show packed all of it's killer stuff into the first 3 or 4 episodes, and the rest just fell off?  The led off with their best stuff but didn't follow-through.  Normally they hook you with something really good at the start, but the big punch is usually saved for the season ender, which they build up to for weeks.  Also, every week they usually leave you with some reason to come back (more, better content).

Zoomba,

I agree with your analogy regarding content, that was very well said but I still feel if you release something it should work as advertised and I feel that 20%+ CPU usage for a product that Microsoft claims has very low usage and little to no affect on battery life should even in it’s early form deliver on that.

I have to take into account that this is pre-release so I apologize to both you and Frogboy for beating this into the ground. I am looking forward to the trigger based dreams and look forward to them. I just hope you understand that not all people can have machines where they don’t care about how much CPU is being used, PC’s are generally no big deal, but laptop users, even the ones who have the highest performing ones would like to be able to use this as it was billed without having to turn off settings when they unplug the cord.

Thank you for putting it into perspective, have a great weekend!

Actually, no. Stardock was paid to create the content that is part of Windows DreamScene - the download. That content hasn't been released and will be part of the Ultimate Extras.  But that has nothing to do with Dream.WinCustomize.com or the content Stardock has provided.

Ok, thank you for the clarification, sorry for the rant. Have a good weekend.

As for my comments about working for my boss, who do you think Stardocks boss is, US so the analogy is valid

No, Stardock's "boss" is the respondent here called 'Frogboy', so comparative analogies should defer to the source/authority.

On a separate note, let's refrain from calling others 'bitch', etc [big OR little].

Disagreement is fine....name-calling isn't....

Hey I'm just grateful for free stuff. Having said that, with a 30 inch monitor the dreams available here don't really look very good because they are stretched to the max. If they were say 2560x1600 I would be happy. Hint, hint...

I have the perfect solution.... I'll swap you my 19" ....and I'll be happy to 'endure' stretched images on the 30"....no problemo....

Um, ok, I'm not getting into a tit for tat on what a boss is, my reply wasn't technical. THe buying public decides if a company lives or dies (other factors as well but not going there) so thats what I was meaning by boss. Anyway, I apoligized and having had a few days to reflect have no idea why his comments set me off, so I apologize to Frogboy once again.

All this talk of giving best content reminds me of when they were releasing the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. People saw the shorts for Volume 1 and said "Hey, where's this one? Where's that one?" and the response from the Warner Brothers person was something along the lines of "Okay, we'll just release a set with "One Froggy Evening", "What's Opera Doc" and the rest, and WHY will you buy Volume 2?" Refreshingly honest, I thought.

or the time I went to see Barenaked Ladies in concert and this drunk woman kept yelling out for "If I Had A $1,000,000" and finally Steven said "Okay, fine! We'll do that one right now and then we can all go home! Will that make you happy?"

Hi folks;

I have a trial copy of Adobe After Effects. Now where do you find good Scenery to edit as avi and then turn it into a dreamscape?

Or better yet what is the process? I am going to use this with DesktopX and have a moving Background......I have painter and all of the trees and schrubs and dirt I neet to place into DesktopX as a cover background.
