The KKK referred to blacks as inhuman (or subhuman).

Yes, Hussein was a monster, but he was human. If Baker had added an e, I would agree.

I know it's confusing in this day and age to know who deserves compassion and who doesn't, as some of my articles and comments will attest.

With all the talk from conservatives that liberals are atheists; with all the talk from conservatives that liberals love tyrants and dictators because some liberals try to make friends with them and show them some love and compassion, which is more Christ-like?

If he was a monster, how could he have been humane? I guess I don't get it.

I'm not much on the death penalty because I don't think that it's right for just one person or even a group of humans to say "yay" or "nay" to someone else's life, no matter what that person has done, much like Saddam or someone like Timothy McVeigh, etc., etc. I don't think I have the wisdom to say that death is a "just" punishment for one's wrongdoings.

Frankly, I doubt that compassion or "love" as you call it would have melted Mr. Hussein's heart in the least, nor do I think he ever would have felt the least bit of remorse for how he treated his people at ALL, no matter how long he was kept alive. I still don't know if that makes it right to kill him or not. But I certainly don't think anyone could call him humane. Human? Sure. who isn't? But Saddam and humane are two words not usually used synonymously.

I think I know what is tolerated and what isn't. I've been around here since before there WAS a here, thanks. I walk a fine line sometimes, but there are some people, like you, and lucas, and iconoclast, that can't function in this kind of environment.

Folks like you are common online, and online is really the only place that you can limp on without holding your tongue or getting a bloody nose. Given that Iconoclast can't resist ratcheting up his rhetoric to top the last steamer he left on the forums, eventually he'll say the wrong thing at the wrong time. If it were my site, he'd have been gone at the "pigs" blog, but it isn't.

You and lucas can't handle discussions without taking them personally. Therefore you will always be the victim, steaming away and mourning your wounds. You're not good at it, so when you try and reciprocate you just make an idiot out of yourself and make yourself feel even worse.

Eventually, people like that implode, too. Over the years I've seen people like you come and go, and I have managed to hang around. Maybe tomorrow I'll forget to take my zinc and get myself exiled, who knows. Today, though, you can't really compare what I am to what you guys are, because you aren't even in the same ballpark.
