problems with updating

from GalCiv2 Forums
I havnt plaeyed this game for a month or so and i wanted to update it to 1.4 and when I click on it I get an install fail message and my next thought i would just uninstall and reinstall and I get error message there too. it says i need computer admin rights and I do have those rights so im kinda confused. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure your user account is set as a computer administrator? The installer shouldn't give that message if you are set up as an admin. You can check it for certain at Control Panel->User Accounts, where it should say Computer Administrator under your username.

and its not appearing in my add or remove programs list. I am so confused lol.

In that case, try updating using the standalone patch available on the downloads page instead.

I dont get it, I just tried to uninstall it after about 3 hours and now it uninstalled just fine and now im in the process of reinstalling. Thanks for the input Kryo.
