Concern about downloading

I have a object desktop subscription and have not been able to download anything over 2 megs. I'm concerned about not being able to download GC through stardock. Will there be an update to Stardock prior to GC's release or maybe an alternate download location?

Is this with Stardock Central or with the OD component manager?

With Stardock Central. When I try with componet manager it gets a few KBs and says it's complete.

Have you tried downloading ODNT components with Stardock Central? That is what we'll be using with GalCiv. It's not related to Component Manager in structure.

Will it be possible to download the game (after purchase of course) using plain vanilla HTTP / FTP, or do we have to have the Stardock Central?

Stardock central doesn't work on my system and frankly, I don't think I really want or need it. A plain download site would be much better, IMHO.

Is there any reason to keep the Dregin Net interface then? Can it be uninstalled?

You should be able to uninstall the Drengin CM.

I found the problem. I was using an old copy of SDC. When I upgraded to the new version the problem went away. :D

I finally managed to get SDC to work, but it was a rough ride. I'll post a reply to my own thread "Stardock Central installation woes" explaining how I did it, in case someone else runs into the same problem.

Stardock support were no help. I e-mailed them all the info, and got an automated reply saying my e-mail contained only attachments and was promptly deleted. I guess it was because the e-mail was in HTML and I embedded the log files as attachments.
