Serial Wont Register on new PC Help pls

Hi,

I bought Galciv2 from a well known software outlet and played the game on my previous computer no problem downloading updates from this site. Now I recently got a new PC so I unistalled Galciv2 from there and installed in on the new PC.
Upon reaching the serial activation step I was told that it was invalid and referred to stardock whom I have contacted.
They tell me they do not have my email address registered and that the CD key in the case should work and if not I should contact the customer.

I am very very confused as I have 2 CD keys 1 starting with GC2- for the collectors content and then a 2nd one which I was provided with from this site when I key in my GC"- serial. The activation process will not accept either serial and now I have a game I paid £35 retail release for and cant play!

Okay so been playing around, seems I can play the game fine with my serial IF I do not update it from this site. But when I download the latest update it will not activate!
Any ideas because stardock sales tell me its not their problem and Im getting very very annoyed at them.

This is true, because Galactic Civilizations 2, as released, does not require activation. If you choose to obtain the latest version, which offers additional features, we require that you activate Galactic Civilizations 2.

I've found the problem and have fixed it. You should be able to activate okay at this point. It turns out the email address you entered when activating did not have the '.' for example in '@stardock.com' . I've put this in and have merged it with your existing Stardock.net account, so you should be all set at this point.
