Drengin and korath remind me of something.

On the game Star Control 2 their were the urquan and Korah who opposed eachother because one race wanted to enslave all the lesser races while the korah wanted to exterminate them. They both had very simular philosophies, is that where this idea came from? Korah also have a very simular name to korath as well.

well, it's probable that the korath were insipired by the korah, but accusing stardock of ripping annother game off seems a bit unfair.

I don't think Kanaric was accusing anyone of ripping of another game. He was just wondering if there might be a connection because of the similarity.

Which there probably is. Frogboy's a known fan of that game.

Oh I think it would be fair.

I wasn't consciosly thinking of Star Control 2 but given that SC2 is one of my favorite games of all time, I couldn't say for certain that I wasn't inspired by SC2.

Why don't you guys make a SC2 type space adventure game?

That's a loooong story.  I'd love to do a Star Control 4 (though right now we're pretty booked up for the foreseeable future).

Star Control 2 blew me away, and still blows me away today. I've played the free version of it, Ur-Quan Masters (WWW Link - yes, it's a legal download), and it's still a fantastic game. I think it's my favourite game of all time. The story, the races, and the humour are all exceptionally well done. On top of that, the free-form gameplay made you feel like you were actually altering the course of galactic events by your own actions and whims as to what to do next. You were never led by the nose through the game by the designers, you were quite literally free to do whatever you want and go where you want.

Man, so you guys want to do remakes/sequels to both Master of Magic and Star Control 2. You guys have too much taste and not enough staff.

Meanwhile, the industry cranks out countless new iterations of sports games and RTS clones every year...

Aye. 'Tis the bane of Stardock's existence, it seems....

By the way, I'm glad to hear Dark Avatar is going to have even more stuff than before. I think it will be well worth the delay.

Yeah...SC2 was a great game.
