If you play a game long enough, funny things are bound to happen. I was fiddling around for info in the diplomacy screen for the arcean, and learned they were allied with themselves!

I see this in my current game as well, with the Altareans, so it's not specific to one race. Of course this particular game has been riddled with tons of bugs, including, amy unrecoverable (so far anyway) save game.

Not totally off topic, I just saw a news report in my last game that said that the Altarians were well on their way to defeating the space shark. There was no hope for the space shark at this point.

I'd never dare doubting that! Actually, in that same game, the Torians were also allied with themselves. Torians and Arceans were allied, I don't know if this can happen when the race is not already allied to another.

I think I remember someone saying something about the space sharks surrendering to them. Something like that.

This used to happen in very early versions, but I thought they had that and the pirates surredering fixed before the corresponding release (which my memory wants to say was the GM release).
