How to make fleets ???

A noob question

I´ve had the game for 2 months now but just started playing it..
It´s quite understandable for the most time but I do have a question..
You can make a rally point and determine you want to create a fleet..

But is there any other way to do this ??

Getting my ass kicked by a pirate fleet made me awere that I can´t go on sending my ships stacked (single ships in the same quadrant) in to a battle.

Any help appreciated...

Stack the ships, then select all of them in the lower window by clicking each in turn so they are all highlighted. Click 'Create Fleet' button.

You have to research Logistics to create fleets. And the higher the Logistics level you research, the larger the fleet can be.
