(Assuming GC2 will not run, so there won't be a debug.err)

Go to Start->Run and type in dxdiag and hit ok. Click the 'save all information' button, wait for it to process for a couple of minutes, then save the file down when prompted. Go open the file up in notepad, then go to edit menu->select all, then edit menu->copy.

Come back here, click in the reply box, and go to edit menu->paste in your browser, then post the information.

Presuming you don't have a good enough video card, you won't just be able to switch a file. However, the good news is a video card good enough to run this game won't cost a lot of cash.

Yea, hehe, you can spend less on a card capable of running the game than the game costs itself. However, most PC gamers spend at least a couple hundred on their video card. Extreme video systems can cost close to $1000. I spent $350 myself, always the most expensive component in the computer.

my guess is your running a machine with (most likey) an ATI Radeon on-board graphics card, with a 2003 driver? I have a sony viao laptop that had a similar problem...I needed a new driver for my card and the one from ATI would not install on my machine...luckly a hacker had the same problem i did, they hacked the driver with a secondary program so the new driver could be installed on older machines....if this is your problem repost and i can email the hack program to you.
Note: hack is for ATI radeon on board graphics, also if you do have one of these up-grade if possible they Suck!!!!!!
