Can you change hull size? From Tiny to Small, etc?? Plz Help

I've a tiny ship design, and I'd really like to use the exact same design and upgrade it to one size larger. Any ideas on how I can do this w/o having to start from scratch. It's an imported design, so I didn't make it myself Thanks!!!!

it doesn't work that way, you can't upgrade from one size hull to another. I don't know anything about copying a design however. but if someone does know, I'd like to know about it too

All you can do is pick a similar shaped small hull and apply the same jewelry. It should look very much like the tiny hull version.

there is only one hull that can be upgraded, cargo into large. unless that changed with 1.2. large hull is basically just a reinforced cargo hull, same size and all, just more hp. that does NOT mean you can do the upgrade in shipyard, just that you can upgrade a cargo hulled ship into any large hulled one by using the upgrade option in the ship detail screen.

If the ship was created with my mod, it could theoretically be done outside the game by simply editing the ship design's xml file to use a small instead of tiny hull.

Can it be done in notepad or is there something else that needs to be done to edit the xml file from tiny to small?
