CPU Intensive algorithms

Anyone noticed any difference?

I've just finished my first game with this option selected. There wasn't much difference in time between turns, 9 teams, gigantic map, normal star abundance, max planet abundance. I didn't particularly notice the AI coping better with ship movements which is the only thing I know this option is supposed to effect.

I should also say I have amd64 3ghz and 2gb ram if that makes any difference.

Yeah, with this option selected my computer getting really slow between turns, but it diddn't make too much difference to the AI. i might just have this option off

yep... same here... what's it supposed to really do? the ships the AI builds are better, and planet utlization is definately on the money, but the colonization is still off.

I think it makes the computer upgrade it's ships more often then normal ( the norm is once per year ) and to allow it to move fleets together and have attacks more concentrated on one area to whittle it away. And it seems to be working in the game I'm playing now if thats wahat it does. ( for the most part)

The option is there but i don't think it does anything yet. It's not in the "iist" for 1.2.
The AI already is updating ships faster than 1x per year. I don't think Brad has said exactly what it'll do.

AI seems to be creating more effective fleets on larger maps and ships are being redesigned much more often.

In the midst of a multi turn offfensive, I see new ship designs coming out to fight me.

Been playing all the betas and the AI seems to be more competent tactically, (attacking out from planets, etc) and strategically, banding together against aggression.

Still don't know if the Intense AI does anything or if those are improvements general to 1.2. I am playing suicidal usually on huge maps,

I have a fast computer and have been turning the intense AI on since the first 1.2 beta.

It's actually quite difficult to tell if you're being annihalated due to the intense algorithms or if you would have been outplayed anyway. I don't suffer too much of a performance hit so I'll probably leave them on for now.

the computer is smarter in how it gets technology on ships better sometimes then what you have, you always have to be on top of things otherwise it will attack your planets more that ive noticed
