I've never played a 4x game before. I decided to give this one a try because I read good things about Stardocks's philosophy on copyright protection. Aside from that, reviews said it's a really good game. I almost never buy games retail (I buy them used on eBay), but I wanted to support Stardock's sales figures so I bought a copy at Walmart.
Man I'm impressed with this game. It has a steep learning curve, but once you get past it, it's really fun to play. It reminds me of the old BBS days when I used to play a game called Trade Wars. Anybody remember that one? Anyway, I still have a lot to learn, but I've managed to hold my own so far. Well, just wanted to pay my compliments to Stardock.
