1.2 Beta... Where to download, I can't find it anywhere, what am I doing wrong?

Can't find it anywhere. I've bought the game online so surely it can't be blocked from my sight etc?

Open SDC - make sure 'show pre release' is checked down at the bottom.

Thanks for the help, but have to admit, this isn't the easiest thing to follow. I've opened up SDC and can't find anything near the bottom relating to 'show pre release'

Can you be more spacific.

I wouldn't say I was a total newbie but I'm struggling with all this SDC downloading and online purchasing

Ok show pre release is selected, it was in the view menu.

It was alway selected though

Where exactly do I need to go within SDC to find this stuff. Seems like a total mind field of other games and stuff I'm not interested in at all

Go to downloads and I'm asked to buy everything in there, and nothing relates to the game either.

Ok finally got it. I've just updated the game, and tried loading it and it says 1.2 beta.

Its because it didn't say that it was the beta that was updating that confused me.

Thank you chap for helping me out so fast, its always frustrating when you love a game like this and want to get all the latest goodies for it.

Thanks again.

Is there anyway to get the Beta without SDC. I play at home with a 56k line (more like 16k) and I have Mac's at work. Obviously SDC doesnt work with Mac.

Yes, could we get a link?

I'm reluctant to get download SDC, as the game itself does not yet work right for me and I don't want to add anything additional to the mix. I'd really like to play this game without my computer shutting down and hope the patch helps.

its not a patch its a beta. If there is no link its a beta, which is buggy in its own respect.

If you want tbe Beta get SDC deal with it. Most places dont even release betas, so be happy.

The files its updating arent that big, you shouldnt have a problem with 56k dl from SDC, even on my T3 my rate is being capped by SDC to like 4-10kb/s, and even at this rate it takes like 2-5min. 56k stands for 56kb/s so you shouldnt notice a cap on your side either.

Regardless of the fact that the patch is beta and I should download SDC and "deal with it," I would still like a link to the beta without downloading SDC, just like the link that was provided without SDC for 1.1.

If you don't like my request, you'll just have to "deal with it."

mortibus,

Betas are only available on SDC for a reason. They don't want beta to be used by their entire installed base, they are for a smaller number of hopefully tech-savvy users who are willing to put up with extra bugs and serve as testers.

Restricting it to people who have already figured out how to download and use SDC on their own is one way to do that.

Mortibus is just being inane. The betas are only available through SDC. I won't use the horrible thing, so I have to wait til 1.2 release. You WILL in fact have to deal with it, you passive-agressive little twit.

Too bad you don't know what you're talking about. I downloaded 2 v1.1 betas without SDC posted by a programmer in a thread on this forum in the month after release. I'm sure Frogboy can set you straight, why don't you send him an e-mail to educate yourself?

It's also unfortunate you don't know what "passive aggressive" means. I guess it makes you feel empowered to insult others who request a link.

Whatever gets you up in the morning.

I have SDC but it always seems so slow to download anything, can anyone post a link for the 1.2B?. I downloaded the first 2 patchs from the web site because SDC was only reaching 2 kb/sec at most and would have taken about 10 years to download. Does it use ports used by p2p software that my ISP puts caps on? and is there a way to change the ports it uses if it uses ports?

The game is fab, but I have to agree that SDC is pretty naff actually. Its a minefield of a 'thing' and not too pleasent. It isn't helped by the fact that we all seem only able to download at modem speed when most of us are now on 8meg connections etc.
