GalTrek™: The Concord and The Furious

Star Trek Ship Hulls for GalCiv2

The Concord and The Furious

(Click thumbnail images for larger version)

Polygon Count (triangles): 2,407 / 1,881
Defuse Mapping: None.
Light Mapping: Everything.
Normal Mapping: Nope.
Ship Builder Hardware Mounts: Yep.
In-Game Hull Size: Both medium.
Time spent "making it so" : 1 hour / 2 hours.

Well kidos, the table at the bottom of the page is looking pretty full of gray, which means that, aside from a few user requests that I still need to satisfy, I have completed just about every canonical ship that I had wanted to cover. This means that I need to use non-official ships to fill the gaps (*glares at the section of “small” ships*). Here are a couple more fan-ships for the medium category.

Those of you who are planning on using this hull pack, please go here and submit my form so that I can track how many people are into this sort of stuff.

I had wanted to get these ships into small, but the size of the escape pods and windows really requires them to be classified to medium, at least.

Stay tuned for updates (use this form if you want to receive email updates when new ships are available).

Here is the list of ships so far:

Cargo: Oberth Model A (120m) Finished. link
Oberth Model B (120m) Finished. link

I think that Stardock should hire you to design their ships for the game.

Got your mail.

Nice looking ships, can barely wait to get them into the game!
Good work on the other ships in the other threads also.

Will you be doing a Galaxy-X class (TNG: All good things) sometime? That would be cool to use for engine-upgraded versions of Galaxy-class-based ships in-game.

A Wells-class timeship (VOY: Relativity) would also be cool.

do u really need to add more Huge ships, i mean Star Trek when it was cut just got to huge ships, ie the Galaxy etc.... in the universe that we know. other than a sneak peek into the future in Ent. i say we dont need more huge ships since u can only build so many Huge ships with out killing yr economey. well thats my 2 cents good work cant wait for this to be finnished

I think thye are both very pretty though my 2c would be to make the first one (the Concorde?) a cargo hull and put mount points between the two aft beams. That way cargo, troop or colony modules can go into a more streamlined hull without being shrunk to the size of a bathroom

Either way, good job.

More excellent models for utterly retarded designs. Great work... questionable taste.

oh man these are great! I agree that if you have time a Wells class timeship would make a great tiny hull (they look awesome as fighters) Keep up the good work man!

Hott..

I'm kinda dumb and I have a question...

How many polygons do the "stock" ships have.... how does it all work?

I am very curious.
Stock are about 2000 polys and less.

These hulls will fit into the game as standard ship hulls, the same way that you normally access ship hulls.. They will have mount points and everything. I am not 100% sure how I will implement the mod portion of it yet though.

I Must Have These Spleeze and Now!!

Great work keep working on those ships

will they appear as a 6th hull type, or 7th if I consider the B5 ones.. or 8th or whatever... or will they be like kryo's hull mod and appear as random jewlery???

I like his mod, but had to disable it.. I hate how disorganized it makes the whole process because they got mixed in...

now if they create a 4th column called alternate ship hulls... then I would be rockin' again

MOIISKA - Well after speaking with Cari, it looks like these hulls are going to have to take the place of some existing hull type, as the game will not allow me to ass a 6th type of hull. What this will mean for building ships though, is that all my hulls will appear as standard ship hulls, organized the way the current hulls are, so it will be quite organized (hopefully).

Seems to me that the fictional guy at Starfleet who designed these two ships must have been high on space crack!

Not sure if you know about this site, but it might be helpful in filling in a few of those small ship hulls that cause such consternation, as well as providing other information.

brian... if you look at the link maj. disaster gave you... and if you are still having trouble on placing where some ships should go... you can also guesstimate it because well A it has the sizes for the ships listed, but also has the numbers of crew and max capacity. like the galaxy...1014 crew members, max capacity of 15000

these ships are better looking then the stock ships anyway, the stock are good, but these just look so nice. so i have no problem replacing them, as long as it wont screw up the metaverse games and flag them as cheat games. you should ask cari about that too just in case.[

alterans said that, and while i usually have lots of huge ships without economic problem, i think he could be right about the number of huge ships, you have to remember that a lot of people dont get huge hulls in games depending on tech speed, so what you have could be fine i think, except for anymore you already have planned.
