Terraforming ???????

I dont need to research terraforming.... it look like in every game I play, the terraforming zone you cant use normally are automaticly available when you research the second stage of improving quality planet...so I dont research terraforming but I still can make it work on red squares...

what the hell is this ?

Yes

sorry if I'm not clear,

So I research the planet improvement , for orange square, but then the red square are also available, even if I dont researched terraforming.

before you get soil enhancement, you can see the yellow squares, but not build things in them.

when you get soil enhancement, you can turn the yellow squares green, and see the orange squares but not build in them.

when you get habitat, you can turn the orange squares green, and can see the red squares but not build in them.

when you get terraforming, you can turn the red squares green.

that's the way it is supposed to work, at least...

unless, of course, you've gone ahead and chosen Neutral as your alignment.

that changes things, and could explain what you're seeing?

i dont know if english is your 2nd language or just not first, but slow down. Take a screen shot and show what you mean.

My english is bad, specially when I'm half drunk.

I think I understand my problem now... hehe

How does it change things in fact ?
I can't figure out exactly how it work.
Is it that all possibles terraforming tiles, yellow, orange and red, get "green status" or are only the ones you are actually seeing in planetary screen ?
And what if you had already terraformed all possibles tiles and then you turn Neutral, do you still get some improvements or anything at all ?

Thank you for anybody wishing to explain this.

neutral maxes the planets potential ie performs all planetry upgrades automatically. If u have already researched and implemented the upgrades im pretty sure u dont get any added bonuses from choosing neutral.some times its best to just quick tech to neutral rather than researching the improvements

I don't research any of terraforming techs (soil, habitat, terraform), since I go for neutral alignment which upgrades all tiles automaticly.

Yeah the only situation when i research soil enchancement is when i need a square for some wonders or trade goods. You can buy aphrodisiac for ~1000 anyway so just wait until you research xeno ethics ( of course if youre planning to go neutral).
