Control- N nerfed?

I am starting to think I messed up the patch somehow.

Race color = not working
Blind exploration = not working, always blind
Control N = Takes me to metaverse log in screen instead of regenerating a map.

I admit I haven't been reading the posts here for a week or so, did I miss something?

Race color: Not sure since I've never bothered to change my custom races color since I found some I can live with that doesn't match any of the predefined races.

Blind Exploration: I've played a couple of games with it on and then turned it off and it seemed to work ok for me. That is I can toggle between the two states.

Ctrl-N and Metaverse: I seem to remember it starting to do this with the beta but it may have been even before that. My guess is that this was their fix for the Metaverse tagging ctrl-n as a cheat.

I am sorry, taking one to the metaverse login is NOT a fix for the CTL-N problem. It is effectively an elimination of the feature. They completely broke it.

Yes, I agree... its the same as hitting the "return to main menu " button, except you get to skip one click, that being the "metaverse" button. You still have the 8 or so clicks to go after that to generate another map.

Is there any way to disable this "feature"?

Why don't you tell us what you suggest as a fix then? Because although the devs allow it, I'm sure a few people see ctl+n until you get an amazing start as cheating anyway. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's broken.

It doesn't stop a person from resetting the galaxy; it just makes it take longer. Frogboy and other developers have said that crtl+N isn't a cheat.

My solution would be to make sure the races are spread out more evenly rather than completely random. No one, human or AI should have to start in a corner surrounder by 3 other races.

Well their other option if you look at the posts was to not use ctrl-n for metaverse games. Is it an ideal solution? Well no I don't think so either since I liked the way it used to work. But that's just what they did don't shoot the messager .
