Race color not working?

Before the patch, I could choose what color my influence / borders were by choosing the "race color".
After patch, I although I chose yellow, my empire shows up grayish blue instead.
I am not sure what info to post except that I use an nvidia 6800 gt with drivers updated last week, on a clean hardrive with windows xp installed last week....
Am I missing some new "feature" on this one?
