Bug: v1.1 Estimated Completion Times

Hey guys, sorry if this has been posted already, I took a quick look around but didn't find any reference to this issue (maybe it's just me)

Anyways, with the new patch, whenever I pick a building to construct on any planet, its estimated time of completion before construction begins is always "never." Once construction begins, it gives a numerical estimate but it tends to be several times higher than the actual time required. It'll tell me a newly zoned factory will take 25 or 40 turns to construct when in fact it takes 4 to 8 or something. It's not *really* a big deal, since the buildings are still constructed on time, and it's possible I'm just doing something wrong. But I thought I'd put this up.

I dont think the "never" being displayed is a bug. If you look at your Social production box it will have the <<<<<<< symbol meaning that all unused Social production is going to Military production because you aren't building anything yet.

Therefore your effective Social production (as I understand the new system) is 0. When you select a building the "never" is correct. But when you put it in the queue a number should appear correctly since Social production is now in use and not be transferred to Military.

So to recap, the "never" is not really a bug, just misleading.

Your other point though sounds like a problem. How do the weeks required in the Plant View compare to the Weeks Required in the Civilisation Manager - Colonies screen?

When it goes to the queue it still shows never or sometimes just an incorrect time (ie 100 turns). The only way to get it correct is to switch in and out of the planet screen or change emphasis.

I have decided that it cannot or will not be corrected so I ignore it but it is a glitch

Known. Been there since 1.0X, at the least. Never is when you aren't using social production (which goes away after 1 turn), and the wacky time estimate will reset to the correct timing if you leave the planet screen and re-enter.

Can't they fix that somehow? I know it's a petty complaint, but it's annoying.

if you don't want to close your planet screen, click on the improvement on the planet grid, it'll tell you how long it will really take to build.

Still, 1.1 rules.

It's because you're a dork. Build some factories and farms.

This is the first time I ever heard someone complain about projects that were completed *ahead* of schedule...
