What race to you find yourself hating?

For me, it's the Torians. For some reason I can't stand the Torians. Even in fresh games in which nothing has happened yet, I hate the Torians. I'm just wondering if anyone else has a specific race that they just seem to dislike game after game (my friend at work personally hates the Altarians).

Gah, stupid Torians.

Altarians.
Whenever I play as the humans, the Altarians eventually declare war on me. Ironically, it's the Drengin that I have good relations with.

All of them (except the one I'm playing at the time).

Toasters are always top of the hit list though, with the green fishy @$%!s a close 2nd.

For me its the Krox, Drath, Altarians (every time I had and alliance with them I apparently hit on their leaders Mistress and we end up at war) oh lets not forget those snotty buggers the Iconians.

Races I like are the Torians, Thalans & Terrans

Races I'm neutral about Dregin and the Yor

I hate the smelly humans, the drath are usually on my hit list too

I agree, those darn Torians are always causing trouble. But my worst is the drath. They are the only race that consistantly keeps up with me.

Torians...that expansion and I play evil alignment. If they are in the game they are usually the first to declare war on me ( not a good idea on their part ). Then it's the Yor because, well, any self-respecting member of my empire hates Yor (otherwise I'd play them).

Hehe, its fun to see I am not alone. Doesn't seem that one race is particularly reviled over other though, I guess they are disliked about equally. How you can you like the Torians though, Hobbes, how!?!?

I dont know why but in all my games Torians seems to beat everyone else ... first they flood the space with colony ships, tho every race do it torians are crazy with the colony rush, then they always have the most influence and later the best military. I play on "crippling" level and without the torians i feel it would be just too easy but on masochistic the AI gets so much "cheat" bonuses i can win anyone here won on that diff ??

I won a Masochistic game on a gigantic galaxy with all computers, uncommong habit planets, common planets, star clusters in v1.0X.1 (you can click on my name to see, it was submitted to the metaverse).

I am currently playing with the same setting now in Beta 4B, tech trading off, and let me tell you it has gotten a LOT harder. Although the Torians had a horrible start position and were crushed first so at least I have that

I don't understand why so many people dislike them, they always allies with me when I want them to never betray me, can alway count on them to trade/sell tech with me hell I remember having the Arecean on the ropes but no transports to finish them off so what do I do I buy these lovely 16 move transport each with 3 advance troop modules from my good buddies the Torians dirt cheap now I ask you which other race will do that for you.

People hate races differently depending on what version of the game they play and their galaxy setting. Certain races are a lot better playing certain settings than others, and the various AI and gameplay tweaks in the betas have made them alot different from 1.0x. Me? I play large abundant galaxies in the latest beta, so the Torians breed like rabbits and have to be killed really quickly or their influence will take over the galaxy.

I will say humans. In most of my recent games, they are the most difficult to deal with. Basically, the mix of an adequate military rating and good diplomatic ties to everyone else means that I cannot get them bogged down in proxy wars nearly as much as I would like to.

The Drath and the altarians are also annoying, but not quite as much in recent games. While the Altarians tend to get a good mid game thing going, its easy to send them off to pointless wars against Evil races.

Humans have sticks up their arses. But aside from not trading with them, I really don't hate them.

The Drengin somewhat annoy me with their blind aggression (Yor not as much), but I really don't trust the Korx. Half the time I kill them just because I don't know when they're going to next backstab me.

For me, definitely the Korx.

I don't hate anyone totaly, but the presence of torians bothers me. Mostly because they tended to either suck or dominate the galaxy in GC1 (spent too much time playing it, its imprinted itself on my brain).

Hmm... May I guess your allignment?

Torians. Always Torians. Most races have their time in the hatred-spotlight depending on the game (not all civs, but I haven't had time to play the new betas much so that may change), but the Torians... grr. I think it partially relates to one of my first long games in GalCiv1 when the Torians were the ones to bring the house down (I wasn't a big military power). The Korx also had this thing for demanding stuff early in the game back in the GalCiv1 days... I think I hate them too...
