Forum Rules?

This is odd

I have been noticing that there are no forum rules. I never saw any. Technically if we wanted to we could run around screamin' the F-bomb and cursing a certain racial group.

I just find it strange that a company like Stardock wouldn't have any. (Please correct me if I'm wrong about the rules)

You're right there are no written forum rules... But you'll notice that no one is running around screamin' the F-bomb or cursing racial groups.

This is called 'comunity'. People gernerally conform to the community standards. And the standards here are such that the kinds of posts you mention do not occur very often. And we are a self policing group is most respects.

Be assured however that if these kinds of posts occur they will be dealt with promptly. It's not a pretty sight when the Goddess says 'swearing is not allowed' [shudder].

So... the rules are simple... there's only one really... be polite.

Why should somebody "curse a certain racial group"?This is a gaming forum! As far as I know, only Terrans in the forums. I've never seen a Torian yet here, are you?

Wow. A pointless observation. Here's the short: If you test the peace of this forum, a bunch of vigilantes will get your IP address and blow up your computer.

It's your choice to decide if I'm serious or not.

There are no rules but there are moderators watching the forum, we work behind the screens, so don't tempt the mighty hand that can delete your posts and lock your topics or ban you from the forum!!!

LONG LIVE THE DREADLORDS!!!!!

Can Stardock kick you off the forums or atleast delete a post?

Yes, but bannings are quite rare. Posts/threads may be deleted if they have very bad profanity, racism, obscenity, links to piracy sites, things like that. Usually we just try to edit them to clean them up if they're out of hand, but the edit feature is pretty random as to when it will actually take. So sometimes deletion is the only recourse (it seems to be slightly more functional than editing...).
