How to maximize score?

EDIT sorry double post Just wondering the best strategy for maximizing score. Would I get a better score by ending the game at 1st opportunity for an alliance/influence victory? Or would I score more by keeping the game going by declaring war and conquering the civs that I could ally with? Does the score go down the longer it takes to win, or does it go up over time as more techs are researched?

I think the slower it takes to win the more points you get. Getting a quick win, doesn't get you many points. I think conquest victories also give you the most points.

Your score is divided by the number of turns it takes.

is that true for all game types? i think i've noticed some on the metaverse who have won cultural conquests on suicidal in one year and do not get a very good score..i.e. something around 20-30,000 .. however its easy to get 80,000 points on normal in 8 years or less doing a conquest

or is there some different divider correlated to each type?
