Can we add galaxy shape to size?

Anyway, if not in this version, but a later one, to get the option to create galaxy shape as well as size - such as ring, clumpy, spiral, etc.. Strangely enough, my last three games have been giant "X's" :)

Yes, it would be neat indeed to have a "galactic spiral" shape (leaving the sector designations in its current square pattern, of course). I think this would only work on the largest two or three sizes.

I would like to see this also. Along with it I would like to see a "Star Density" option. By this I mean having many stars clustered together in big groups, or fewer stars very spread out.

I think customizability would be great. The new Stars! (that appears to be going nowhere), has it. They've gone nuts with the customization though...

yes this would be great... i was thinking exactly the same thing why not have three cuztomiz option : size, shape and density... i would be much more fun... like in an old game (1993 i think) i used to play with : Spaceward HO alors a strategy based turn game

i hope you can do it

shameless that we can't have it like a real one a 3D maping... i know it's unplayable

why not a map editor? Allow a max size of 36x36 to be imported with stars already planted, with the home worlds of the races. The galaxy generator would then added the resources.

Yep good idea

i think it's more feasable than change the galaxy generator in the game...need less change on GalCiv if they create a map editor

Not really. The 'map' editor just needs to save out a turn 1 save game instead of a map.
