Invalid Serial?

But it worked when installing the game

The game has finally arrived in Australia, there was no jewel case but the serial was stuck on the back of the user manual.

I entered it when installing the game and everything seemed to be ok, but whenever I use this serial on the website here to try and create a character/empire I am told that the serial is incorrect.

I have checked it, rechecked it and tripple checked it just to make sure but still no luck

Anyone have any clue?

Hmm. What publisher is that from? Where'd you get the game? Does this form help?

The serial doesn't start with a GC2 and was from the Australian publisher not anywhere in europe. I can confirm the actual publisher when I get home but I am fairly sure its the australian version

Where did you get the game from Enigmatical?

The game here is distributed by some company named Auran. I went to their website and it doesn't even mention Galactic Civ, they seem to be the makers of the Trainz Railroad simulator games. I don't know if we'd be better off contacting them, I have been apprehensive to since they don't even mention that they are affiliated with this game.

By the way it doesn't appear that the collector's edition is on sale in Australia, so that's not the issue either. I would like to hear from any Australians who have purchased the game and if their serial is actually working. If so I'd be inclined to return my purchase as faulty and get another one.

Was purchased from my local store called Berlin Wall (Link) which has always been incredibly reliable.

Only thing I noticed was that the serial number was on a sticker on the back of the user manual, and that it was very close to the left edge. It could entirely be possible that a digit was left off the front, but considering that it happily accepted the serial number within the game itself during install, I find it strange that it doesn't accept it on the webpage.

And I did correctly register the game (this was the first problem I had, trying to use the serial before I had registered it).

I bought it from Berlin Wall too! Maybe there is a problem with their batch.

Enigmatical, I've been able to work out the problem. You were correct in your suspicion of there being a missing portion of the Serial #, in fact it is just one character missing. So to get a valid serial response simply try every letter and number in front of the code one at a time and eventually you will find the correct serial number. Try starting with numbers as the first character of my code was a number rather than a letter. The patch makes things run a lot better and it's well worth it.
Good luck!

Its in the EB Games warehouse apparently and should be out on Monday. Curses. Would download buy but only can afford to buy a game with my EB games voucher so I have to buy GC2 from EB.

Perfect!!!

It worked... was a digit and not a letter so it is all fixed now.

Haoh, when you have registered, look for the "Adeladian Conglomerate" empire... thought we should start a local empire of our own
