German localisation

Hi.

I've been reading reviews and browsing through the GalCiv2 homepage for a couple of days and now I want to buy this game. It sounds awesome.

Since I'm German I think weather I should buy the German localised version or the North-American version. So what are the differences between these two versions. Will the whole game be localised, not the voice-overs or just the manual...

The question might seem dumb, but sometimes there are really bad localised games with bad translations, not translated bitmap-based UI-elements, terrible voice-overs and so on. This realy screws the fun and then I am sorry I didn't buy the original version.

Could anyone clarify that? Thanks.

From what I understand paradox is handling localization in Europe and countries on that side of the pond. Check their site to see what they have planned, but I beleive they're translating everything (text and voices)

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Thank you for your answer. In the link to the german forum one person points out that he bought the german version of GalCiv 1 and was also allowed to download the english version from the GalCiv1-Homepage.

Will I be allowed to download the english version as well if I buy the German version of Galactic Civilizations 2?

And second: Will I be able to use the patches offered at your GalCiv2-homepage or will I have to wait for localized patches?

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

I'd really apprechiate information on this topic. Maybe your sales departement or your attorney can answer this question about the rights?

Phew! When reading about the problems, that those, who bought the german version have, I'm damn happy for having been so impatient and having bought the english version online. Seems it realy saved me the sorrow, I had been afraid of. There is nothing worse than ruining a game with a poor localization.

Besides that: "I love this game!!!" 4X space strategie games rule!
