New Scoring system update...

The next update is going to update the scoring system.

This is wonderfull, because it means there IS a scoring system, that your scores are not generated at random.

Why would I say such a silly thing? Because I have been asking, and asking, but no one has any clue where there might be an actual description of the scoring system. All I get is vague references "seems like long games get more points" and things like that.

Of course that doesnt make one bit of sense, because winning on turn five hundred should be an impressive feat, where winning on turn seven thousand is not exactly going to turn anyones head.

But I digress.

Where the heck is there a detailed explanation of the scoring system? Must I play every possible game type, with every (infinite) strategy type, to get some extremely vague idea of how it works? How are people supposed to compete for better scores, even if only against theselves, if they dont even know the rules?????

I am sorry if I sound frustrated, but I have been asking the question for a while now, and it seems no one has an answer.

Ok I get it... this is a taboo subject, like asking a southern baptist if he has intimate relations... right?

Am I in a church or library or something?

Do I need to contact tech support and ask them this?

Do I need to speak more clearly so everyone can understand the question?

I am usualy a polite person, but... this is getting frustrating.

So it really is against the rules to know how the scoring system works in any detail whatsoever?

Am I asking some stupidly newbish question that is answered on page one of the manual or something?

Is this in some invisible forum no one but me can see?

Yes, it is... and I am a figment of your overactive imagination.

Actually, I'm kind of curious how the scoring works as well. I assume it's somewhat based on end game score you get with a multiplier for difficulty level, map size and length of game. Those would be logical. Beyond that, and I am quite certain there is something beyond that, I really don't know what other modifiers there might be. Do we get a bonus for tech victory, or conquest victory?

So many questions, so few answers.... but thank you for confirming that this isnt an imaginary forum, lol.

Maybe if more people ask, someone with the knowledge will answer!

I noticed that any post where the poster is acting like a child whos mommy took his candy away, screaming and throwing a tantrum, those posts get answers. Oh sure, they reply with insults, BUT they answer the darned question.

Perhaps I should change my tactics if I want to actualy get answers... I can put up with a few insults to get a good answer here and there.

I did find a rather lengthy discussion about this on the metaverse forums, so Ill shut up on this topic and go chat with the people who care about it
