Building Structures?

I'm a newb to the game, but have been enjoying it immensily. But one question I have is building structures like labs, factories, etc on a planet.

what I've been doing is at the start loading up my que..say on my main planet I'll load up a couple factories and research, trade center..etc...spread it out.

as I aquire planets I may "specialize" to an extent depending on the class of the planet...but I'll always que up the buildings as soon as I acquire the planet...

like I'll colonize my second planet and go...ok this planet is going to have a bunch of factories..and I'll build like (again depending on class) 4-5 factories and a shipyard..then throw in some random things..like maybe a farm..etc..all

another planet I'll load up with trade centers for my ecomony..may not build a shipyard if the planet class is too low.

but basically I'll load up all the "tiles" with ques as soon as I take the planet.

is there a better strategy for this? maybe I don't quite understand how the "micro-management" works entirely yet...is there a better way to go about this?

thanks.

Hey, I do exactly the same thing, I can't see any problem with it, and it saves a lot of micromanagement to do all the queueing at once.

I do it aswell. Of course you can take your time with it and you will probably get a better Civ by doing so, but basically thats all you need to do. The big question is what order to do them in. Factories first etc.
