Help with Populations

Driving me Crazy

Hey Everyone,

I hope someone here can shed some light on a problem i am having. Here goes

Using this formula I found for population I am confused as to why a Class 10 planet that can supposedly HOLD at maximum around 26.62b people, keeps having like a 30% approval. When I look at the approval info, it says something like -70% because of population. Now I only have around 20b people and I have 4 Advanced farming Modules (which are +8Mt each).

Now I have enough food (i'm assuming) and population is NOT at max capacity. So shouldn't my people be happy?

My reasoning says that either:
A) The formula is off...
B) Theres a magic "Happy" number of colonists per planet before it affects Approval...
OR
C) I am missing something...

Because it is getting really annoying Autobuilding TroopTrans and rallying them to relieve the population problem, then just decomissioning them later (usually by scrapping the design when I have oh like 100 of the dam full ships ROFL )

Also is it possible for people to reproduce PAST the available food?

Thanks Everyone!

Sure it says that the planet can "Hold" 26b people. But think about it, if earth today with its 6 billiion people suddenly had 26 billion how happy would you be? No place to stand, no privacy etc. Your planet is overpopulated, so you have to resort to +morale buildings to keep them happy. My suggestion would be to scrap 1 farm and build a +morale building in its place. Your population will drop and your morale will go up.

Oh and just remember that farms are the buildings that determine your population. The more you have the higher your population will go.

General rule of thumb is to not build farms on any planet below class 6. For every farm you build, build one equivalent level morale improving building. Keep taxes under 50%. Follow the tooltip advice like you've been doing.
