Sound bug

Make sure your video and/or sound card drivers are up to date. Try watching the tutorial in full screen mode. Are you running the latest patch for the game?

hum... i didnt think there was already a patch out. i see if i can download and install it, but i think my sound drive is up to date..

Yep, I believe that was addressed in the patch, and even without it if you run the movies in fullscreen it will play the audio without the interruptions.

it does not on my computer, the movies are in shockes and the audio files too, i wil format my computer and check if it still does the same stuff, (it was needed anyway) such drastic measures. (btw is measures with or without the a? is it mesures or measures?)

I have same problem with glitchy audio but the alarming thing is it seems to affect all sound aspects of my computer i will explain.

My computer is pretty stable allways has been games and sound are fine all drivers are up to date then i brought this game i noticed as i installed it that it stopped at 95% and wouldnt continue so i waited a while and nothing happened so i took the disk out and put it back in and it seemed to finish loading.
i started the game up and noticed instantly that grapics and sound were juddering so i downloaded the update (collectors edition) and installed and tried again and it was still the same so i thought right lets check all my drivers, they were all up to date so i decided to reinstall the game i uninstalled then shutdown computer but as it restarted i noticed tht the startup music was crackling and skipping (like it was in the game) hmmm

So i decided i needed too and the time was right to do i total reinstall of windows (i do this once a year) so to cut a long story short i do a new install of windows update all drivers and windows and directx get my computer at a nice state that works (did a system restore point so i could roll back if i got any problems as i add games)and the first game i tried was gc2 (my newest game) and guess what it stopped again at 95% (i gave it 10 mins to see if it would carry on) and again i took disk out put back in and it seemed to sort it.
I loaded up the game and guess what sound + graphics still choppy and glitchy and even worse all my sound on computer was the same glitchy is the the only way i can describe it so a shutdown and startup computer again and notice it now takes ages to load up to desktop so in desperation i roll back to my restore point (thank god i did it) and my computer is curently fine all other games ive put back on work no sound problems at all.

I would at no point call myself a computer expert but i sorta know what im doing when it comes to drivers and installing stuff and i have to say i will not be trying this game again and im taking it back for a refund i can only come to the conclusion that this game was causing me problems and alot of wasted time and effort.

i dont have that problem i did a format to remove possible viruses etc and stil got the same error btw i cannot seemm to download the patch even if i insert my serial

i have solved my sound problem, i need to view the tutorials in 'full screen" then the sound is having no problems

The only sound problem I have is in mid-game on gigantic maps when each civ has a crazy amount of ships moving about all over the place. Each turn that passes, the sound starts crackling like mad while the CPU handles assigning new paths for all the AIs' ships.

What really irks me is I once had a train of Altarian fleets run right through my space (across the whole frickin' galaxy, basically) to destroy a single Drengin scout, just because the two of 'em were at war. I would think the AI at "bright" would know better than to prioritize ALL ITS SHIPS to the destruction of one lowly scout.

Oh yes, I am soooo enjoying this "buggy piece of shit" which hasn't caused me any problems. End User incompetence notwithstanding.

MercieCommander, while I see you have it resolved, can I suggest that you send an email to stardock about this. These forums are so spammed at the moment it is highly likely that your post will be overlooked but I am sure the devs will try to help you in any way they can.

Well, I have / had the same problem. Bumping up my virtual memory to > 2Gig helped quite a lot (as Frogboy recommended in its sticky.

There is sometimes a glitching sound... I should reallly lok for better video and sound drivers.
