Random events

I've seen alot of people mention how the random events are really over powerd, but I haven't seen a since "big" random event occure. Is there something I've done wrong or is it just coincidence(spelling).

What I was wondering... is there anyway to affect the possibility of these occurences maybe in a future release? Kinda like the way that you say anomolies are common, etc.?

I think the big random events are actually fairly rare things, you're much more likely to get something like the moral choices popping up. There are, I would wager, at least three tiers of probability - things with moral choices like Du'Rakh, things like Economic Booms and Ultradrive, and finally things which increased PQ and suchlike.

I don't know if, and if so how, you might change probabilities and effects of more significant events. The events XML file only contains lesser events, mainly the moral choices, if I remember right.

Big events? Like getting a Lucky Ranger on a small map where the game is generally over about the time Plasma II weapons are developed?

In a game im playing right now the arceans discovered corvette ships that are precoursor in origin. Is that the lucky ranger, or are they different ships.

They're different. The ranger is much more powerful if I'm not mistaken
