Wow to the developers! Won my first game "sort of" ;(

First off, I love this game. Yesterday I played on "normal" and beat the game. One of the things that impressed me most about the AI is that when I massed my ships against two planets for a final attack, the AI contacted me and TEASED me about how stupid I am and like this would never have happened on "inteligent" setting. This message made my game.

That said I am having a few problems with some of the game features:
1. Even after I controlled more than 3/4 of the galaxy, my "win conditions" showed 0% on all sections. What's up with that?
2. I could not group ships into fleets in some cases. I had a logistics of 16 and had three ships valued 4/4/5. Defect?
3. One AI race which was allied with me suddenly attacked me. Why?

Aside from these small issues the game rocks!!!!

I am bumping the difficulty setting tonight!

2. I've seen that as well, but before I updated last friday
3. Some of them are so predictably treacherous

I too finished my first release game two days ago. An alliance vic that wasn't all that easy. (on a small map all AIs are over you as soon as the game starts).
Tried going up a bit too, and got beat the crap out of me in less than 6 months... I'll try now going up again and with a bigger map...

1. Report that in the bug thread. They shoudl fix that. I hadn't noticed.
3. Sometimes, if you are about to win, the aliens will gang up on you. In my GalCiv I experience, they will especially do that during the long and tedious research victory. To win a research victory, you more or less need to have military superiority as well. However, I'm sure that if they think you'll win a different way they may do the same thing.

Was it an evil race that you had allied with that attacked you? I think those can betray even their closest friends.

You mean the AI knows when your about to win a Tech or Influence victory?would that mean that even a race that was aligned with you if they were the last race you must have an alliance victory that they never would agree to an alliance?
