Quick ship build bug

If i upgrade a ship design and save it with the same name to replace the old one, both designs will show up in the quick ship built window (the window that comes up when you press the far left button ofthe UI) with the same name. If i go to the planet's shipyard this doesn't happen. Sometimes this bug doesn't show up right after i've upgraded a design but a few turns later.
Also a ship design that i hadn't rendered obsolete just dissapeared from the build list even though i still had a few of those ships in play.

Are you guys aware of that? Is it common? Hope it get's fixed

Common! Where did all the devs go???

If you obsolete a ship design, its SUPPOSED to disappear from teh build list.

As far as having two ships of the same name available to build... I think the dev's have already stated that saving "over" a ship name like that is, currently, a no-no for some reason.

Someone else had reported that their obsolete ships were still showing up in the quick build list, but I haven't heard of ships that weren't obsolete disappearing from the ship yard list.  If you have a save game that reproduces these problems, can you e-mail it to gc2bugs@stardock.com along with a description of the problem?

Thanks for your answer man! So they are aware of it. Will it get fixed? And seriously now: where are those devs? On vacation? Of course they do deserve one but they didn't leave a note

Uh, CariElf is a dev.

It's a replicable bug; Several of us mentioned it in an earlier thread. I've seen it a half dozen times. The thing is, they stay in the build list AFTER you obselete the class as well, which is more irritating.

Whoops; Double posted! but that lets me expand on something I forgot to mention; When you obselete your up-to-date ship from the shipyard, it *will* dissapear from the quickbuild list, its the previous already upgraded versions that do not.

I know, i wrote that before he posted.

Damn! It happened again! One of my custom ships just dissapeared from the build list. One turn it was there and the next it was gone! I still have many of those ships in action though.

Where is the file my custom ships are saved to?

Also, Carielf is a woman.

BlizzardGR, did you try zipping the file?

The custom ships are saved to the ships folder in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\

I have this issue as well...and its driving me nuts!
I hadn't made the connection to obselete designs.
My quick build list contains 4-5 to ships of the same name in my one game.

I posted the below to another thread, "Ship designs not deleting"

I've found that deleting ship files in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships\ doesn't work if you load a saved game.
It appears that when a save game loads, the ship designs in the save, create config files back into My Docs. (You can tell by the .shipcfg files in all CAPS)

I've also noticed that multiple configs exists for a single ship config and when I open the file they aren't designs I made/saved???

What drives the creation of the shipcfg file in the Ship Designer? Is there something that creates the files other the Save button?

Is there anyway to delete a design/config from a save file?

I've just sent it. Didn't have time yesterday. Let us know if you find the cause of this bug.
