Activation Problem

Hey all, just purchased my copy online (cancelled my Amazon order as it wasn't due to arrive until mid-March), anyhow, download was completed nice and fast (average 900kb/sec!), but I can't activate it, I presume this is a problem with my Uni Network Firewall/Proxy Server. This is where it gets fun.
I cannot work around the Firewall/Proxy, I can set up SDC to work through it, but presumably the activation app works differently.
So what can I do?
I can't go plug my pc into another net connection as I don't have a modem, only an ethernet card and I know no one with a network. Is there some way of doing offline activation? Edit:: I receive Error Type 0, from the activation app. When I do try to activate GalCiv2, I just get a box saying activation failed.
