Opponent aligments

How do I know what the aligment is of the other races, and is there a way to change it?

Well if you are of one alignment, and the race's relation-report towards you have a -Your ethical alignment , you can assume they theirs differ from yours. Other than that, I don't know

Well, also, some have more evil-ish backgroundmusic while negotiating than others, I'm sure some conclusions can be drawn from that. Oh, and also, as I in my last game started weering towards evil (and built up a decent fleet), the Drengin and the .. umm, the longfaced dudes, can't rememeber name, both approached me with conspiratorial messages about us standing up to the weakling altarians to promote evil in the galaxy. So there are clues to other factions alignments ingame for sure.

I think in the relations screen, if you go to the stats page, you can have that information (I remember seeing something like "korx: leaning towards neutral" - so it' there somewhere)

Yes in the Foreign Relations screen you can look up the stats of your opponents, one of those stats will show you which direction they're leaning, or if they picked a direction already.

As of 1.0D, however, you have to spend money into espionage to unlock those stats.

I had the impression that stats needed the spending, but moral alignement was always visible. Was I dreaming?
