Save crash

Im have small problem with saveing
-everynow and again while saving, my game will crash and that save file will become corrupted. Its not a huge deal, it just causes me to save alot, and I get set back a little bit. Does anyone have any suggestions

it also occurs sometimes when loading, but that doesn't corrupt the save file
-i figured out that it helps when I set it to autosave every turn (it never crashes when autosaving), that helps alot
