Minor Races

Quick question for you beta testers and/or modders. How easy is it to insert custom minor races into the game? Is it possible, and if so, is all that is required a 256x256 image file and renaming of files? Based on the pre-load files, it looks simple enough, but my knowledge of this stuff is limited.

This was fairly easy to do in Space Empires, and I am hoping that it is straightforward here too. (This isn’t meant to start a discussion on Space Empires, I just want to know if I can mod minor races.)

My guess is you can, I just don't know the details on it just yet. Nearly all aspects of the game are mod-able.

I hope that stardock will give same easy tools to mod the game in every case. I don't like and want to chance something inside importent data's dir's...

Hey GalCiv1 had "space sharks" I was sooo happy seeing them they got special rangerships to protect them in my games if they showed up

Perhaps this time they brought along the "space dolphins " ,"the space squids" and perhaps the "space frogs (directly realted to the deadly "star frogs")
