Planet movement

I have been seeing pics of the systems where you can clearly see the planets around the stars, but will the planets be moving around the stars or are they stationary. (from what im understand a move will be 1 week?, which means that if they are moving it will take 48 moves to rotate once around a sun, for earth)

They are stationary. In fact, one screen shot I seen had multiple planets on the same orbit (if they actually had orbits in the game, I mean).

It would be interessting if they did orbit, no?

what im getting at is that someone can be attacking you but they can end up chasing your planet which can give you a turn or two too build a ship or upgrade what you have, of cource after you check out what your opponent has installed.

Yea, you wont get that in GC2. The planets dont orbit, but I think it would be very cool if they did. Probably more CPU intensive,

And if they did orbit, they could move every 4-5 turns a sector, or something like that. You could plan ahead this way if you knew the orbit of a planet. That could be fun!

Oh well, doesn't really matter.
