Ok I find it fine to replace a member of the team due to him not having the time to follow.
However I have written at least 75% of the strings in the mod and worked hard to get it all there before release.
Mine is also the idea of putting in the mod the planet classes for Trek instead of Volcanic, Ice, etc that everyone enjoyed.
So unless you have made the new guy start from scratch and dumped all my work I'd like to see me having my permanent slice of glory in the credits so far as my work will stay there.
That means - the txt file in the package where you have the credits and the forum post up there which you have recently edited, and all other places where you have any form of credit listed. Also please get the nickname right this time perhaps. Thank you.

Wow. I feel for you dude, but everyone was given an opportunity to keep their place on the team by simply contacting jtaylorpcs. You could have simply pulled out then and asked that you be given credit for the work you'd done.
You did add quite a few things to the text-area of the mod, which I agree you should have credit for, but I wouldn't go overstating things. I know of several people who put a great deal of time into the string file, including myself. If you don't have time to continue helping, fine. But you might try asking politely before losing your cool. I've found I always get better reactions when I'm not reaming someone out. ![]()
While we're on the subject, however, my own credits don't include everything I do (unit texture reworking, modeling, string, brushes of all sorts, abilities, UI texturing, entity coding, particle effects, and sound files). Does my salary go up the longer my list is? If so, I can try to add a few more items to it. ![]()
Darkshimmer isn't in the list of current team members either. I think you're getting excited too easily, credits generally come in a readme file when the work is put out for consumption.
While we're on the subject of amending the list though, my name is capitalized! Also, it implies that I work, as opposed to procrastinate. This double dosage of undeserved respect is upsetting my balance! Not to imply that I'm a well balanced individual to begin with.
This is climbing the mirrors. If you're not hearing from someone and you replace him it's implied that his work should be credited nevertheless. No matter how small or simple the thing he did is, it's a matter of respect given we're all working for free and during our freetime - and the credits are the only rewards we get.
I think I actually was polite enough, being this the second time it happens, I had trouble even getting myself credited there the first time. I also think not to have overstated anything beyond what I really did. If it wasn't deleted - in the package there should be a txt file which is an incomplete log of all my edits to the strings.
I've found I always give better answers when I'm aware of all the facets of the stories.
Everyone does what he can and have their tastes. I did much of the string work and had some cool ideas like the planets classes and the hidden 47s - and would like to see me credited for that. Perhaps for you it's not important but for me it is, being the only thing I did and I know I did it well.

Sorry about that happening, and I know that the team will take care of it.
First off, I am the new guy to take over string editing (James S.), and I am certainly NOT trying to claim any of your work (not trying to be disrespectful or anything, just not wanting to claim your credit). You have done a great job, and I feel that you should certainly be given your credit where it is due. I had suggested that maybe a date of when we worked until be placed in (mine would be a start of 06/14/10 - ???), but I am sure whatever Jtaylor comes up with will be proper accreditations.

I played the mod for the original SINS and liked it...Now Ive been playing the Entrenchent mod for star trek...and it totally kicks ass..the detail you guys put in this mod is awesome..little things like the borg saying (we are the borg when u zoom in close..ect) awesome work guys...just curious tho do you have a ETA on when they mod for diplomacy will be introduced??? I cant wait lol .... One thing that would be great if you could double click one unit and then all the same types of units would be selected... Not sure how you guys would feel about having boarding parties for special abilities (unless thats too much like armada lol)...another idea would be having DS9 staion as another option for FEDS or even the Dominion confed... BEST MOD IVE PLAYED IN LONG TIME TY
The diplomacy version is on hold for the time being, especially until the the entrenchment version is completed. Porting the complete mod over to diplomacy should be fairly easy, anyway.
Boarding parties have been instituted as abilities for the klingons, I know. There might be a boarding ability for another faction, too, but I'm not certain.
The Nor-type station will be used as the trading port for the Dominion. The model is complete; I think we're just waiting on it to be textured at the moment. The large cardassian station we see in the final season of DS9 where the rebel group steals a bug ship will be the main starbase.

To be exact any obmission is said users fault as i have instructed the team to update the read me and drop in the ready to import box for review , also the most currenty release and readme are not the same. EI the readme not fully updated as it has been since the intial Soa2 0.4e series. But with that being said , The obmission is not done on purpose. Not by far as you have helped out alot in the strings dept. All are welcomed who want to assist. Just with managing a mod team and getting results and not getting any communication. Descions need to be made. I totally hear you on the diplomacy thing, just agree with stress we need to fully implement some things first. With the next update you will see a new readme file. With Correct previous and current mod teams members and there conributions. Also if your still wanting to assit I do have a mission for you. As a side note as of late my real life has taken a toll on mod development , but my schedule is back to normal and Things will be back to normal starting now!

I believe that Mystic pretty much summed up everything that you asked there OddsEndsRR.
From what I know on ETA though, is when we finish our updates with Entrenchment, THAN we will import to Diplomacy.
Also, I do believe that the game already has the ability when you double click a unit it will select all units of that type in that specific grav well, but other than that there are no plans of changing over the sins operating engine like that (would kinda be a pain in the butt anyways), so if at worst I always recommend creating quick groups (ctrl-1, ctrl-2, and recall with 1 and 2, e.t.c.).

My work on the Diplomacy build involved rebuilding the foundation to incorporate the optimization project. Also to rescale all of the units to 1/2 scale. Both are about 1/2 done. I haven't had any free time to do much more. Which is why i wanted Jay and crew to stay focused on the Entrenchment version. While i alone worked on the Diplomacy versions foundation.
The plan is since both versions will be 99% interchangeable is that once i am done with the foundation anything from any of the entrenchment versions updates can be ported directly over to the diplomacy version, and vice versa. My focus is the art, and basic mechanics (models, textures, basic entitys, and particles). The rest of the teams focus is the details (fine tuning balance, ability's, maps, research, and finishing what i cannot finish).
I am "retired" from the project Jaytlrpcs is in charge, but i will still contribute what i can, when i can. Just dont expect instant results from me.

You can press and hold Alt then click on a unit and it will select all unit of that type in that gravity well.

Hi, I was thinking of upgrading my system from its current XP service pack 3 to Windows 7. Does anyone know of any issues I need to be aware of so I can keep playing Sins (with all expansions) and this wonderful mod?
If I want to add music, for example to the federation battle music, do I change the name of the file to FED Battle 4 or something and then convert it to a .ogg file?
not that I know of jpaa1701, I switched from xp to vista to windows 7, and if anything, sins works better with windows 7 in my opinion.
You must also add a reference in the SoundMusic file within the GameInfo folder. Be sure you increase the number at the very top by 1. You must also add the new sound file to the PlayerFederation file as well. I think there's a soundCount value that you'll need to increase here, as well.
