AI build list

I am currently messing around with a mod and would like to know how you change the AI's build list/priorities...

You can change a little bit in gameplay.constants, where weighting values are set for the different AI personalities, but that's as far as we can go.

I increased BuildModuleCivilian value buy a factor of 10 for all personalties and the economist(BMC=50) still wont build anything other than the Capital Ship Factory first.

In the mod I am working on the Capital Ship factory costs considerably more than you start with. As a result the AI becomes stuck. It wont even build resource extractors to help it get to the point of being able to afford the factory. It just sits there pumping out scouts one after another...

Yes, some things do break the AI a bit. It needs to have capitals. In fact, the AI builds ships based on a ratio of capital ships to frigates/cruisers.

I don't remember exactly, but don't the 1.1 patch notes say the AI will be better at adapting to this kind of thing?

I am not certain either but it is clear that they are unable to adapt to changes of this nature. I hope they increase the AI's flexibility in this mater with the next patch.
