[ANSWERED] Multiplayer and Mods

Hello,

I haven't tried this yet, but i was wondering what happened if you activate a Mod on your local machine and go online to play against other human players?

Does it automatically turn the Mod off and reset all the setting to default?

If the other clients all have the same mods on, do you then all use that Mod?

If the other clients do not have the same mod, but they agree to use it, does it automatically get sent to all the players from the host?

If anyone can let me know the coo with mods and online multiplayer, that'd be wicked!

If the mod file is different you will get an error saying the game data differs from the host.

Nothing is reset as to allow online mod play.

You can't sync up mods online - this would be prohibitive for anything larger than minimods.

Thank-you very much for your swift and clear reply.

How about changes to the user.settings file, Such as how often the game autosaves? I assume those kind of things can differ happily as they're just client side changes??

As long as you don't change anything other than user settings, most of which are acessible through in-game menus, you should be fine. Changing anything outside of that results in a different checksum for your client, and the above mentioned error.

Texture and mesh will complain, but will let you keep playing.
