How to give gift?

Hello,

I'm into my first SOASE Rebellion game. Can someone explain to me how to give a gift to another race? I have researched "Xeno Influence", but all three "Give 100" buttons in the diplomacy menu are greyed out for all other races. I certainly have enough in the bank as well.

 

What am I missing?

Did you set lock teams to on? You can't give gifts to enemies with lock teams on, since it is impossible to ally with them anyways.

Teams are locked buddy:) hate to say but in that game when you hover over any other players cease fire/peace treaty red text will show in tooltip saying that "the alliances can not be changed". So unlock your teams in game options and you can do your diplomatic victory and give gifts. Its greyed out since no point in improving relations if you literally cant make friends  :)
