Sins of the Prophets - modding trouble

So I'm trying to install Sins of the Prophets, a Halo mod for Sins, but I'm having some trouble. I should say now that I this is my first time modding Sins and that I've only ever modded Minecraft before (and not very successfully I might add).

The installation is fairly simple for SotP: download the necessary build (rebellion/entrenchment), put it into the relevant mod folder, and bam, good to go. The problem is that since the mod pathway for Trinity is diplomacy, if I put the mod folder into entrenchment, the mod doesn't appear in the available mod list (and as such can't be run), but if I put the folder into diplomacy, the game crashes when I click 'enable mod'.

I can't remember the version of Trinity I have off the top of my head, but I bought it off Steam a couple of weeks ago.

If someone can debunk the mystery of this for a modding noob, I'd be grateful.

 

And off topic..... would anyone be interested in a game of Trinity? :D

You need to explicitly launch Trinity as Entrenchment, otherwise it launches as Diplomacy so of course it will crash. I'm not sure exactly how you do that since I don't have that version, but its probably either in the launcher or you can directly run the Entrenchment .exe file in the installation folder.

SotP will not run on Diplomacy, you must launch Entrenchment's exe itself.

Did you fix your issue Raptor?  Also make sure that you installed your mod to the correct folder.  I also do not have the trinity pack as it released after the standalone versions released.  You may be interested in putting this into the SOTP thread line so they can respond in line on there thread.  Good luck.

No I havent solved the problem yet, because I don't know how to change the mod path or run entrenchment's exe directly. Im going to have to fiddle around with the files a little longer and see what I find.

Go to the install folder 1st and find the Entrenchment.exe and right click > Create Shortcut, should place it on your desktop.

 

Trinity [Orininal Game with Entrenchment & Diplomacy Expansions]
(Win 7 - 64bit)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire - Trinity 

if you have bought expansion packs seperately, take the " - Trinity" of the install path

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire


Once you start the Entrenchment game, it will create the mod folder in

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire

Ok, so I haven't checked the part for entrenchment but i have rebellion and that's sorted. Thanks for the help guys :D
