New DLC- Underwhelming?

Is anybody else disappointed by Stellar Phenonema?  It seems to have the least amount of content out of all the trinity/rebellion dlcs. At least Forbidden Worlds gave us a long awaited addition of new planets, and the industrial or social specs changed eco gameplay alot. The random events in this new dlc have little impact on gameplay, and if there is, it is frequently negative. Randomness has no place in competitive matches, and all this tricky doo hicky nonsense with the pirate superfleets and trade booms/busts is really hurting it. Plus there's the fact that its insanely overpriced. I guess stardock is taking a leaf out of CA's book here, by releasing sub-standard dlcs to squeeze more money out of this game. It seems to be working, because nobody is calling them out on it.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still play with the dlc than without (keeps the game from getting stale), but it is a far cry from the days of quality game additions like entrenchment or diplomacy.

Thoughts?

Well clearly this DLC was not designed for competitive multiplayer, that is why you can turn them off. For the single players however random events are a pretty big feature, and I consider it a much more ambitious DLC than Forbidden Worlds was.

That said you're certainly not liking this DLC, the steam forums have seen much more debate on it.

Yes

As for my 2 cents I enjoy the DLC. I am primarily SP so it keeps things fresh. Plus I plan on making some mods with it soon.

Yup. Sadly it is probably the main reason why fewer Rebellion players have become regulars on these forums.

Yes, SOA2 is almost done using the DLC to add some trekky jaw droppers  :P

I agree with the OP.  It's pretty underwhelming, at least for people who have no interest in random events.  However, I do like the new neutral extractor wells and the ship graveyard.
