[Diplomacy] I want Border Agreements

Please, in the love in all that is nice and fair, please add an border agreement that prevents other players to enter my territory without declaring war and let it take effect whenever the other player withdraws from my territory after I make the diplomatic demand to do so.

I'm so sick to demand from the AI players to leave my turf only that they enter my lands just the turn after >_<

Yeah, it'd be REALLY NICE if the AI prioritized settling near it's own borders instead of strewing about all over, and if we could make border agreements.

It'd be nice if borders worked like National Borders in Civ 5 or if you could cast spells or start with bonuses that permanently changed the terrain within your borders, so you could have an arctic kingdom or a desert kingdom or even a swamp or forest kingdom, an empire that uses kingdom terrain with full bonuses, or vice versa.

But that would be an improvement that added asthetic depth for the USER END EXPERIENCE which is something Stardock doesn't seem very good at.

I second the suggestion. Nothing else to say, just that I'd love that option! :)

diplomacy as a whole needs to be completely reworked, i'm sure that will come with future patches and expansions.  Afterall to me galciv 2 had one of the best diplomacy systems IMO but that was not really until the last expansions for it.

I would love border agreements, too. Or at the very least, when someone enters your borders you don't want, add a third option that says "Don't enter my borders again anytime soon! (Cannot enter borders for 15 turns)".

agreed.

IOd also love to see renewal spels to get more terrotory for cities and a plague to kill all ai pioneers they manage to have 15 turns before me all over the place, bugger them...

They already exist. You need to research the Third Book of the Magi to unlock them.

I'll sign up for this.  Where should I send the money?

Agreed.  Just because I am not at war with you does not mean I want you prancing on some damn pony through the lands.

To steal from another great game "All enemy units within your dominion suffer random lightning damage every turn..."

The problem with this is that it severely affects the AI's ability to fight one another, plus, it's just way too easy to choke the AI with an outpost. Think about it, pioneer spam with stealth, choke them... and then proceed to take the map for yourself (never mind Arcane Monolith >.>). If this is implemented, the AI's aggressiveness to their neighbors would have to be increased many folds... because if they can't just walk through your territory, they'll have to take it.

Actually I have a really cool idea to fix that.  Let's say that you grant an AI civ right of passage, at the outpost you would be able to set whether the AI can actually pass through that outpost's area of influence.

The downer is that because what you're effectively doing is setting up a toll booth, there's no way that you can charge that in advance on the treaty.  Because you could just revoke passage through a particular outpost and then it's a worthless treaty for the AI.

It means the AI has a choice, it can pay a modest fee for going through your checkpoint, getting just the access it needs to fight its enemies.  They profit, you profit, until of course they decide they hate your guts and that toll booths are evil.

They could even need to "push" and spend some influence to try passing through against the blocks, and such block should be stronger at capital or very important places TM.

Unless they DOW you, which then comes under different terms, susceptible to war magic - being lightninged all throughout my empire. With bigger damage closer to arcane places of power...

Also, simple town capturing should be prolonged, like a siege for some time etc...
