got some questions about rebellion

1. How does the game desync and what is the cause of it, is it the person's internet or computer or the servers?

what are the chances of it happening?

2. Are titans OP?

do I need a titan to compete with someone who does or I can still beat him without ever building one.

3. To continue a MP game, is it only the host that saves the game or does everyone have to save the game to load it up again?

4. What type of missions does the AI give or you can give to the AI and do the AI have different personality's to one another?

Ex. Lets say I have an aggressive AI and another AI that's more passive would they act differently to me or to each other. Not just play style but in the missions they offer.

1. The desyncs are still there but not as bad as the originals I assume. I havn't had one myself yet. It seems to be a person's internet issue or server unsure of it. Stardock is trying to get as many files in as possible on this.

2. Titans are not as OP as you may think. They get really powerful if you start feeding them levels as it should. You can still win against a titan without building one if you can spam out the heavy cruisers and/or bombers before it levels too much. By the titan is gets to a high level you better hope you have a titan to fight against it.

3. Believe it's host load up here idk have to check that.

4. AIs a bit odd atm since of all the new stuff here that needs it to be recalibrated.

2.  Titans are defenitley not OP.

They are actually rather weak, especially to the TEC.   The Vasari have the hardest time destroying them since their fleets don't usually have as many starfighters as the other races.  With that said, the easiest way to defeat a titan with the vasari once vasari become playable will probably be to mob it with kortuls or to use bomber swarms.

The advent have a somewhat easier time of it.  The key to killing titans as advent is to never, ever get in close.  Use massive numbers of fighters to kill them.

Sometimes, though, fighting them close in is unavoidable.  In that case, i would make sure to have many guardians protecting your fleet.  Use animosity on the radiance to absorb its fire.  You NEED to use multiple radiances for this, as a titan will rape a single one on its own.  Switch them off to spread out the damage.

The TEC, however, have the most effective technique for dealing with titans.  (in my opinion.  It is slightly more dangerous than bomber spamming but far quicker.)  What you need is two or more high level dunovs and several kols.  The tactic is pretty much to totally decimate the titan using GRG  (Gauss Rail Gun).  For this tactic you really need high level capital ships.  And not just kols and dunovs!  Only an idiot would send in their titan unsupported.  It's very very useful to have two marzas with missile swarm and radiation bomb leveled up to destroy the titans attendant hoshikos and frigates.  Also throw in an akkan to keep shooting ions at the titan to control its special abilities.

All of that is not really necessary (you could destroy alevel one titan with probably just two kols)  But to really roll over titans, you need either a good assortment of capital ships or MASSIVE numbers of bombers.

Also, corvette-class ships are effective against titans, but i don't like using them since i have a sense of honor.

So,  everyone can bomber swarm (with Advent being the best at it).  Use animosity effectively in a pinch.  Corvette spam. Use GRG with dunovs as TEC.

Kortul mobbing will probably be effective once the Vasari come out of hiding.

TEC have the fastest way of killing them.

Thanks for the responses.

I saw a you tube video commenting that titans are not very good on their own but are more of a support unit. At least until its level cap, Hope that's true I would hate it if a single titan can wipe out an entire fleet.

Also is this game similar to Lords of the realm II. It may be a horrible comparison, its the only other game I played where you tax and manage lands. Been trying to convince a few of my friends who never played this game (but played Lotr II years ago) to try out this game.

No idea about lords of the realm.  First I've heard of it.

Yes, titans are more of a support unit, but they are very very powerful support units.  That said, the death of a titan is usually a death knell to its fleet.

However, at max level titans easily outgun just about everything.  They are actually very cost effective compared to frigates when you consider the amount of use you can get out of them.  A fully upgraded level 10 advent rebel titan could probably ruin any seven level 1 capital ships you throw at it.

And do i get karma for those lengthy and detailed responses?  I've been a good boy.  :pout:

Here in Holland we have a saying. I was going to write it down but then I realized it doesn't sound as pretty as in Dutch. Oh well, the point of it is this: "Those who ask, get skipped." Yeez that sounds ugly.

Just don't be a beggar, that's all.

Or to say it like Semaz always does:

Awwwwwwwwww...

In the US we have a saying.     "Beggars can't be choosers"...      Don't know how that applies though... :annoyed:

The cause is either the game itself sometimes combined with the users computer setup. See this thread for a detailed explanation of an old desync.

Are titans OP?

I think they feel about right now, they were stronger before. Of course everyone has their own idea of how powerful titans should be and disagree wildly with each other, and there is nothing the devs will be able to do about that. ;)

do I need a titan to compete with someone who does or I can still beat him without ever building one.

I would highly recommend you build one at some point, but the game is no longer who builds a titan first wins.

I think everyone needs the save but I'm unsure.

Most things you'd expect. Blow up X number of a player's planet/ship/structure, send an envoy etc.  Though I wouldn't say diplomacy is this game's strong point.
