New IronClad Game?

New IronClad Game?

Has anyone seen this?

soadagame.com

It doesn't say anything at all on the site but there is something in the background thing. Hard to make out

I'm curious of a few things:

Why didn't Stardock publish?

What the business relationship between Ironclad and Stardock nowadays?

Does this mean that Ironclad is done with Sins?

Who owns the intellectual property of the Sins universe?

Online? Multiplayer? Join Friends?

Nope.

Well isn't that a bit cynical. Especially when we just have a vague description and a few concept arts.

Looking at the desc. It is going to be a multiplayer online game. As in publishing, it is a free to play game thus you don't really need a publisher.

OMG. This is EXACTLY the game that I have wanted for years and years! I am so happy someone is finally making this! And I am absurdly overjoyed that it is the same publisher that brought us Sins of a solar empire! This is gonna be awesome!

Meh I will have to see how it turns out. The strategy part looks interesting but who knows.

We are really excited, and fortunate to be able to talk about two great games this year!

Thanks for your support for our newly announced game.
I would like to clear up a few misunderstandings here:

1)Sins of a Dark Age is not a browser-based game.

2)Ironclad and Stardock have a great working relationship. The IP is Ironclad owned, but Stardock has done a tremendous job with the franchise and we are proud to keep this relationship going. We've worked on all our SOASE games together and that is unlikely to change.

I don't feel particularly interested in it (not exactly my cup of tea, but the title is awesome!) but good luck with it. :)

Looks like my cup of tea. I would be wary of this concept though. C&C4 claimed the same basic concept and then was mutated by the great satan into a worthless POS. I hope this one is great though.

The great Santana?

I refer to all EA executives as "THE GREAT SATAN" as referred to by Islam.

Trust me on this: The game will be AWESOME. This is the game people have been waiting for in this area.

While other games in this genre keep retreading DOTA, Ironclad is the one taking it to its next logical step.

I can tell you right now I only plan on playing as commander. I need to start a clan pronto.

I plan on playing as one of the grunts. Love this sort of thing!

Also, according to the FAQ on the soadagames site, they plan to revisit the Sins series.

This reminds me of Battlezone 2.

Which was pure win gameplay wise. Shame it didnt get the patching it needed though. Not an issue with Ironclad games though.

So in conclusion....if its half as fun as Battlezone 2 was while blending 2 style of game play together. This will be beyond awesome!

For sure!

I should at least try it some time instead of ranting agonist free to play.

I wish you good luck with that, but yoi will have to go against League of Legends and DOTA2 for customer base.

I will take a look, at least i can promise that. |-)

The game does sound intriguing.  I think ti will be kind of like Majesty, but the heroes are controlled by idiots instead of idiot AI :) OMG how many times I screamed: NO MAGE, DONT FIGHT THAT GIANT CYCLOPS THING HAND TO HAND!  It should be interesting.

I love league of legends and Sins.... is this like a match made in heaven..?! An RTS MOBA GAME?!@ XD

Thanks for the clarification.  Look forward to giving it a try.

I had high hopes SOADA would stand for Shenanigans on a Dilapidated Albatross, but this will work too.  ;P

The "next logical step" will decide whether this game fails or succeeds. If it's just a DOTA clone, it's going to fail (saturated market shares). If it's a DOTA clone with lots of new features nobody likes, it's going to fail. If it's a DOTA clone with lots of new features that people like, it may succeed.

I hope it is not just a DOTA clone where one player controls the faction units. Those types of games end up very competitive, and extremely niched (natural selection and that beast game comes to mind).

There were already games like this out there, well similar. MP, one player built the base, others chose classes and went out to gather resources or battle enemy players in FPS manner. It was boring.

And as an once dedicated Dota player (wc3 one) I am not interested in this kind of game. There is a reason why Dota is so popular and it is not because of "lack" of base building options.

So does it try to be what Demigod aspired to be, true mix of RPG and RTS? IIRC, before Demigod was released, players were promised to be able to play as either Assasins - controlling one character, leveling it up, etc like classic RPG, DotA, etc... or Generals - controlling armies in RTS style. In the end IMHO there was not enough difference between the 2, playing General felt pretty much same to me as Assasin. So may this be it, finally done right?
