I just spent the entire day downloading Sins mods... and none of them work?!?

right, so, ive downloaded 10 mods (given, though, some are sub-sets of other mods) and used an entire day

and as it stands, the only mod that works is the volummetric and damage effect mod by Mansh00ter, (which i didnt even download today)

the only thing i can see that is suspicious, is that when i enable any of the other mods, the Enabled Mod Checksum always comes up as zero...

i realise there are things like game updates breaking mods, but i am certain at least a few of them will work with Entrenchment, at least according to the developers... (btw, would it help if i specify exactly which mods?)

im sorry if i come across as angry or anything, but i spent all day downloading stuff and checking and double checking, and im a little crabby because i was psyched to start playing, and then i hit a wall...

anyway, does anyone have any ideas?

yeah.. It probably would help if you told us what mods they were...

Yes, tell us which mods you have installed and then we can help you more. My mod probably works because its very "light" - it changes only one file in the gameinfo folder.

That you are getting a 0 checksum means that something probably went wrong with the mod installation, unless the mod changes nothing in the Gameinfo folder, in which case its normal that the checksum is 0.

Bailknights Graphics Mod v1.01 (modified by Annatar to be compatible with Entrenchment v1.03)

Distant Stars Mod v0.82 for Entrenchment v1.03

Mansh00ters Volumetric and Damage Effects Mod v1.13

Sins of the 13th Tribe v0.5 for Entrenchment v1.02 (<-- i can understand if this one wont work)

Star Wars Requiem v2.3 for Entrenchment v1.03

(All the mods below are a part of the Stargate Races mod)

Stargate Galaxy Mod v1.00 for Entrenchment v1.03

Stargate Races Mod v1.00 for Entrenchment v1.03

EDIT: and still, none of the mods work... the only one that gives a Mod Checksum is Mansh00ters mod (bet you feel special huh buddy? =P)

Fleet Sizes Mod v1.01 for Entrenchment v1.03

Planet Sizes Mod v1.01 for Entrenchment v1.03

As you can see, most of them are pretty full on mods...

I'd say you have installed them into the wrong folder, or they didn't UNZIP correctly. A zero checksum means the folder is created but no actual files are in the folder.

Here is the installation help link for Requiem: http://db.imperial.cc/show.cgi?id=sins&a=view&f=2&t=4

Make sure you UNZIP the mods into the Entrenchment-v1.03 folder... and go into each mod folder and make sure there are subfolders called GameInfo, Mesh, Sound etc. If you look into those folders you'll see actual files like "xxx.entity" or "xxx.dds" etc. etc.

haha

i figured out what was wrong... each mod unzipped into a sub-folder within the folder i had set up for it within the Entrenchment v1.03 Mods folder

so for instance the Distant Stars Mod unzipped into v1.03 Mods>Distant Stars Mod> DS Entrenchment Beta 0.82>Gameinfo (etc etc)

righteo, just tried it out and it works, thanks to everyone who replied

Ya, I sometimes find that very annoying.

Copy and paste FTW! =P

Yes, that is a very common mistake. One reason why I'll make a self-installer for my big mod.
